Version history

Every save is kept. Name important versions, compare any two and restore an old one.

You'll learn to
  • Browse earlier versions of a document
  • Name a version before a big change
  • Compare and restore

Pro Version history is a Pro feature. Try it free for 14 days.

  1. Open the history

Press ⇧⌘H or click History on the toolbar. Every save appears in the list, newest first.

  2. Name a version

Before a big rewrite, press ⌥⌘S and give the current text a name such as “Sent to client”. Named versions are easy to find later.

  3. Compare

Select an earlier version to see what changed between it and the current text.

  4. Restore

Click Restore This Version to bring that text back. Changed your mind? Press ⌘Z to undo the restore.
